Wheelthrown in iron rich stoneware and fired in an anagama kiln for 55 hours.

In an anagama kiln the pots go into the firing without any glazes. All the different colours, textures, dribbles are the result of melted wood ash and the flames passing through the kiln and the pots for a prolonged, high (1300 degrees Celsius +) firing.

It is quite thinly thrown and the extreme heat tends to warps the shape the teabowl. So even though it started perfectly round it came out of the kiln more oval at the rim.

It also has the sought-after green melted ash dribble (bidiro) running towards the bottom of the pot.

Measures: H 7cm, diam. 8.5cm at its widest.    Prices always include UK delivery.
